[IN-PERSON] APA Prosecutorial Leadership Institute in Chicago, IL

The Association of Prosecuting Attorneys (APA) is holding its 14th Prosecutorial Leadership Institute on June 27-28, 2024, in Chicago, IL, co-hosted by the Cook County State's Attorney's Office.

The focus of this Leadership Institute will be on Sustaining Prosecutorial Change through Hiring, Retention and Increased Diversity. Offices around the country are implementing practices to include partnering with law schools to recruit new staff, creating opportunities for paid internships, providing bar exam support, and mentoring of newer attorneys. This peer-to-peer exchange will be a forum to showcase these and other successes as well as challenges around hiring and retention of new prosecutors, with attention paid to attracting and retaining prosecutors who come from diverse backgrounds.

APA has funding to cover travel expenses for one representative from each prosecutor's office from the SJC implementation sites. The meeting is also open broadly to prosecutors working with SJC innovation sites and those who may be involved in other SJC cohort and related initiatives.
