Hi SJC Community,
I am writing to share Center for American Progress's recently released piece: Guidance and Tips on Navigating the U.S. Department of Justice Grant Proposal Process: Advancing Community Safety and Justice. This guide aims to demystify the Department of Justice grant process and support cities, and other applicants, as they work to develop grant applications.
In this guide you will find:
· An overview of the pre-award process;
· A breakdown of the different components of a DOJ grant proposal;
· Tips and recommendations on how to navigate the application process and craft a strong proposal.
Separate from the guide is a spreadsheet that highlights grant opportunities from the DOJ's 2024 Program Plan that can be used to invest in community-based safety and justice initiatives.
We look forward to seeing the ways that cities use this funding to invest in innovative safety and justice strategies. Please do not hesitate to reach out to us with questions or to discuss further.
