This workshop will help sites decrease the negative impact of traditional criminal legal system programs on BIPOC & people with disabilities. 43% of people with disabilities are arrested at least 1x by age 28. African Americans with disabilities are 53% more likely to be arrested by age 28. Through Accessible Public Safety & legal frameworks, we will share how to integrate new practices and develop a cohesive set of services in order for BIPOC and people with disabilities to receive appropriate, and ideally, individualized diversion and reentry responses and supports.
