Activating Change's Defending Access toolkit provides public defenders, legal aid attorneys, and other attorneys with step-by-step guidance for establishing a practice of asking clients if they need accommodations in order to participate in the legal process. This includes securing accommodations provided by the court, as well as modifications that you, the attorney, can make to improve communication with Deaf clients and those with disabilities.
