Engaging With Local Elected Officials to Identify and Eliminate Racial and Ethnic Disparities in the Criminal Legal System (Fall 2022)

To enhance justice, equity and fairness, county leaders are undertaking initiatives to collect and analyze data to implement practices that address racial and ethnic disparities in the criminal legal system. Strategies to achieve this goal may include understanding and addressing drivers of inequity, deploying resources to community-led groups and authentically engaging the community and residents with lived experience. Workshop participants will learn about the strategies to engage with local elected officials in this work and opportunities to apply them in their home jurisdictions.
