To enhance justice, equity and fairness, county leaders are developing and enhancing initiatives to authentically engage with community members. Community engagement is a vital strategy to understand the unique challenges a community faces and create space for residents to share solutions. It is a key pillar in local efforts to identify and eliminate racial and ethnic disparities in the criminal legal system. Workshop participants will learn about the strategies to engage with local elected officials in this work and opportunities to apply them in their home jurisdictions.
