Criminal justice and health care partners can save lives by keeping people out of jail through coordinated street outreach and deflection, ensuring justice-impacted people in the community and in jail receive MAT when medically indicated, and creating a solid continuum of care from jail to community upon reentry. using alternatives to detention for people with opioid use disorder who have low level charges.
