The paper provides an in-depth look at the systemic and structural issues facing individuals who identify as LGBTQ+, especially people of color and trans people, and highlights promising programs that are interrupting the pathways to incarceration and addressing the needs of this population. A press release announcing Dr. Hereth's paper is attached and an accompanying blog post can be found on the SJC website.
